New OS X 'Mountain Lion' Drops Older Macs

Apple's latest upgrade to it's OS X computer operating system, version 10.8 Mountain Lion will not be available for older Macs when it is released later this month. This is not really a huge surprise, and the cut-off is mostly Macs more than 4 or 5 years old, which is a pretty long time in "computer years"; it includes iMac from mid-2007 onward, MacBook Air models from later 2008 onwards, and so on. Users of older Macs will still get security and other upgrades to their current version of OSX for some time to come, so it's not all doom and gloom.
