WiFi LED Light Bulbs Look Pretty Slick

Something that certainly never occurred to me before is the idea of making light bulbs that can be controlled via a wireless network and a smartphone app. The video below gives a good idea of what to expect from this sort of technology. It seems like an appealing idea in a commercial setting, although it may be overkill in a typical home. The developer indicates in the video that single lamps would cost around $70 each, at least at first, which is a bit stiff even if they do last for years. The control of both color and brightness is an attractive feature though, as is the ability to control lamps individually or in groups - thanks to the control flexibility provided by the WiFi connection. What do you think - interesting idea, or just silly?
