Tesla Model S 2013 Motor Trend Car Of The Year

For those us who point and smirk at electric vehicles (EVs), prepare to be both enlightened and chagrined. For the first time in it's 60+ year history, Motor Trend magazine has awarded it's rather prestigious Car Of The Year award to a vehicle that does not use an internal combustion engine: the Tesla Model S.

The 2013 Motor Trend Car of the Year is one of the quickest American four-doors ever built. It drives like a sports car, eager and agile and instantly responsive. But it's also as smoothly effortless as a Rolls-Royce, can carry almost as much stuff as a Chevy Equinox, and is more efficient than a Toyota Prius.

The Tesla is not a hybrid, it's an all-electric vehicle, so it shows with some effort and expertise we can build good cars, that happen not to use gasoline as fuel. It also goes like stink...
