UK's National Health Service Looks To The Web

The United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS) is continuing a push to electronic health records by introducing CareInform, a web-based patient records access portal.  The system is intended to help the NHS meet specific performance goals. As the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") sees fuller implementation in the US, no doubt we will begin to see similar systems be put in place here.

Developed by Stalis, a data and resource management solutions provider, CareInform can pull information from any type of clinical or administrative system to create a single longitudinal patient record, officials say. This enables healthcare providers to access accurate patient data quickly and from any site location or compatible mobile device.
