A Chromebook For HOW Much?

The Google Chromebook has, up until now, been an example example of an inexpensive laptop, running a novel operating system - Google's Chrome OS, itself based upon the Chrome browser. A Chromebook is a largely Cloud-based device, with little local storage and largely dependent on an Internet connection to work effectively. Now, however, there is the Chromebook Pixel, a rather high-specification version with a high definition touch screen and a Macbook Air-like style - but it's a $1300 computer. It sure is pretty, but that's a lot of money for what almost seems like 2/3 of a "real" laptop.
