Another Adobe Fire Drill; This Time, It's PDFs

Software company Adobe has not had a good couple of weeks; first, a Flash Player problem rated an emergency patch, and now Adobe PDF Reader is subject to a zero-day vulnerability that affects version 9, 10 and 11. A "zero-day" vulnerability is one that was previously unknown, but is now being actively exploited - thadobee software maker has "zero days" to fix it; it's already under attack. Windows 8 users have a lightweight PDF reader built-in, and so typically would not need Adobe Reader; other Windows user should probably uninstall Adobe Acrobat Reader at least for now, and use an alternative such as Foxit Reader (you can get it at the Ninite site, which is an easy way to install free software without some of the "extra stuff" you may not want).
