Kaspersky AV Users Suffer Some Heartburn

Russian-based Kaspersky Labs makes several popular anti-virus products, particularly so in Europe. However, a recent update to some Kaspersky products caused a loss of Internet connectivity for Windows XP computer users. This kind of thing happens to all AV makers from time to time, and sometimes can be more serious - like deleting critical Windows files. This one would probably rate as just "rather annoying".

...computers that are configured to download the antivirus updates directly from Kaspersky's update servers will need to first have the Web Anti-Virus component disabled, the Kaspersky representative said.
