New Google Chrome Browser Is Listening

The latest version of the Google Chrome web browser - number 25 - features speech recognition capability, among security and other fixes. The speech recognition feature can handle short commands or continuous dictation, and appears to be handled a bit like Apple's Siri, in that the voice data is processed on Google's servers rather than locally on your computer - maybe the same technology being used in Google Glass? The feature supports several languages, and should be interesting to see what uses this can be put to. I tried the speech demo web page, where you speak and should see your words being typed out. It worked fairly well, considering I have a Scottish accent, was using my laptop mic, and the TV was playing in the background...
