Stretch Your Battery - Literally

We are not talking about stretching or extending battery life here; a battery is one of the last things I would think of as being "flexible" or "stretchable", and yet that's just what researchers at a couple of Illinois Universities have come up with.

Power-wise, the engineers say their solution performs similarly to a standard lithium-ion battery of the same size. It lasts for eight to nine hours and it can be recharged wirelessly, though the current prototype loses some capacity after about 20 recharges, so more research is necessary before it goes commercial.

There was also a story recently about bendable glass ("Willow Glass") being touted as a part of a supposed Apple "iWatch".

Kinda gives you new perspective of things, doesn't it?
