Remember This? The Voyager Space Probes

Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched the same year the original Star Wars movie came out, and funnily enough I remember that more than the Voyager launches. The space probes were designed to get close up photographs and other data from the outer planets in our solar system, but also have an intriguing package of "goodies" on board in case they are intercepted in the future by anyone else who may be out there. Both have long since completed their original missions and are still operating on secondary missions. Voyager 2 got the first detailed images of the planets Neptune and Uranus, and Voyager 1 is already very close to leaving our solar system, after 35 years and about 11 billion miles, and assuming it continues unmolested, it will chug away into interstellar space with it's gold-plated playable disk of images and sounds from Earth and it's inhabitants.
