The Android Shuffle

I have just become a victim of customization, after switching from my Virgin Mobile smartphone to a Sprint HTC phone supplied by my job. As you may know, Android smartphones can actually be quite different in operation, as manufacturers and service providers add their own "enhancements" to differentiate their products. Even being a bit of a geek, I tend to like things simple; or at least, let me add my own complexities. So, I went from a cheap simple phone to a mid-tier phone with quite a few doo-dads (technical term). Things are in a different place, they are called different things, and so on; even setting up my Exchange email entailed a Google search (gasp!). I confess part of it is probably because I am a baby boomer and a wee bit stuck in my ways. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but right now there's a lot of squinting and fumbling...
