May Is Older Americans Month

We have celebrations of just about everything these days, and the month of May is Older Americans Month. While I am a Baby Boomer, I really don't think of myself as an older person on a day-to-day basis - I mean, I am getting older each day, but I figure so is everyone else. I still like and enjoy a lot of the same things I did when I was 20, 30, etc. Even the sense some feel that they are "running out of time" is not really true, from the perspective that none of us have a guaranteed tomorrow. There can be tangible problems associated with getting older of course, but if you allow yourself to get bogged down focusing on them you may tend towards inertia - and that's not where you want to be, is it? While age does not necessarily impart wisdom, if you keep an open mind and an inquisitive nature you should not ever really feel "old" or "out of touch".
