Remember This? Woodstock

There are several events from the 1960's that seem to represent quintessential baby boomer moments, and one of the top ones is probably Woodstock, which was listed as one of the 50 Moments That Changed The History of Rock And Roll by Rolling Stone magazine. The three day "music and art fair" drew half a million people to a 600 acre site on a dairy farm in the Catskills in New York state in August 1969.
A year after the riots at the Democratic convention in Chicago, expectations about large gatherings of young people were so low that this was considered a surprise. Although the festival didn’t go exactly as planned, it was, as advertised, three days of peace and music. That made Woodstock an idyll, particularly in retrospect, even though it was declared a state disaster area at the time.
