The New Look Gmail Inbox

Google's Gmail inbox has a new look, and I'm not sure if I like it or not. First, the Inbox is arranged in tabs, with emails separated by broad categories - Primary, Social, Promotions and others. You can edit the categories to some degree, but my first impression is that it appears more, rather than less cluttered; however I'm going to give it a few weeks to see how I feel then. The other thing I am a little squidgy about is that advertisements can appear as emails in the Promotions tab. I'd rather just see box ads that having Google trying to "trick" me into reading an ad "disguised" as an email. I realize Google makes money from ads, and that these free services can be free because of that, but I don't know that "fake" emails are the way to go. Luckily, you can undo these changes pretty readily by going to the "Settings" gear icon and going to "Configure Inbox". You can then uncheck all but the Primary tab, and that will revert you to the "old" Inbox display.
