Microsoft Patch Tuesday - 4 Critical Items

Microsoft Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of each month (September 10th this time around), and is the scheduled release date for security updates affecting Windows and other Microsoft products. It is also the scheduled release day for security updates for Adobe products, through a mutual agreement between Microsoft and Adobe. Microsoft has 4 critical items this month (the most serious designation), including one for all versions of Internet Explorer, and one specifically for Windows XP. Browser vulnerabilities are particularly important, as they are the primary method of infection in most cases. As always, please make sure Windows Updates is set to download and install patches automatically – or at the very least, to download them and notify you. See how here.
