Zorin OS 7 For Windows Users

Windows XP will officially become a pariah in early 2014 when Microsoft plans to end support for the OS (no more security updates or patches). If you have a computer that is a few years old running Windows XP, a viable plan may be to get rid of Windows and go to a version of Linux. Most "normal" people will glaze over at this point; "Linux? What on earth is that?". Fear not dear reader, have I ever steered you wrong? Take a look at the short overview I cobbled together below. It's a look at the free version of Zorin OS 7, a Linux version that is geared towards being un-scary to Windows users. I submit that unless you have some very specialized or specific needs (for example, you are still stuck with a dial-up Internet connection), there is no reason why you could not rather painlessly switch to Linux and carry on surfing, emailing, and watching cat videos on YouTube. Best to watch the video below in full screen.

Also, check out this site - we had a comment from them below, and the site is dedicated to getting people from XP to Linux! Update Jan 2014 - Zorin 8 will be here soon...

Even people still using a dial-up connection to the internet can switch to Linux! I used a US Robotics USB 56k controller data/fax v92 modem on Ubuntu three years ago without any problem.
