Google Chrome To Flummox Flash Ads

Come September 1st, an update to the Google Chrome browser will put a stop to "autoplaying" Flash content on web pages. This means things like those annoying ads that start up and play will not do so; the ads will not be blocked, it's just that they will not start by themselves.

The Adobe Flash player has been the subject of a lot of security issues, and as the same types of sound and video can be handled by other technology such as HTML 5, there is a general movement away from Flash, and it's probably for the better.

The Mozilla browser currently blocks Flash content on web pages unless you have the latest Flash plugin installed, in an attempt to mitigate possible security issues.
