Windows 10 is doing pretty well 9 months or so after it's release, and Windows 7 is now at just under 50% market share on the PC desktop. However Windows PCs in general dropped to 90% of the computer market for the first time. Still a big majority of course, but may be a sign of future trends.
On the whole, Windows fell 1.22 points to 89.23 percent in April. Mac OS X, meanwhile, gained 1.43 points to 9.20 percent. Linux slipped 0.22 points to 1.56 percent.
Windows has never been below the 90 percent mark, at least when it comes to Net Applications (we checked each month; the data goes back to November 2007, when Windows held 95.89 percent market share).VentureBeat
