Android N Is For...

The next version of Google's Android mobile operating system used in smartphones and tablets has generally been referred to as Android "N" (assumed to be version 7 in terms of numbers).

Up until now, we could only guess at what the N stood for, as Google was not saying. We could guess from previous version names like Cupcake, Marshmallow and KitKat that it would likely be named after some kind of sweet treat, and in fact it is.... Nougat.

Yes, "nougat", as in the filling of 3 Musketeers bars etc. (Milky Way bars in the UK).
Nougat (US pronunciation: /ˈnuːɡət/ NOO-gət; UK /ˈnuːɡɑː/ NOO-gaa or UK /ˈnʌɡət/ NUG-gat; French pronunciation: [nu.ɡa]) is a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts are common), whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruit.
Android N should tickle our tastebuds [so to speak] this Fall.
