Booze Or A Joint, Which Is Worse?

Okay, I don't know how scientific this article actually is - and with the softening of attitudes in some areas you can probably anticipate where it is heading - but Business Insider tackles the comparison between the adverse effects of alcohol and marijuana.

A lot of Americans drink alcohol to a greater or lesser degree, and some of us smoke the wacky tobaccy. To hear the proponents of pot describe it, you wonder why enlightened folk everywhere are not sharing in this miracle crop!

Anyway, the article goes through several examples and is at least something to seed further discussion.
According to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, alcohol is a factor in 40% of all violent crimes, and a study of college students found that the rates of mental and physical abuse were higher on days when couples drank.
On the other hand, no such relationship appears to exist for cannabis.
...and so on.
